Prayers for Grace Street Ministry in the future and for those who were touched by the ministry.

While it is not our turn on the rota, I ask for special prayers for Street Church in Guerneville, California. The salary that supports me is Guerneville Community Church (GCC), a small struggling UCC church. (I do two services on Sunday - the 10am housed church; 1pm street church). Yesterday GCC received official 90-day notice that our major renter HeadStart will not reopen in the fall.

After doing the numbers, I find that their rental payment represents 25 percent of our entire church budget. First, the closing of HeadStart is a sad thing for Gunerville. Second, the future for GCC doesn't look good - if it were to close, it would be a terrible loss in that small community - my other concern is that my own precarious financial situation will force me to find some other work which very possibly could affect my own future with street church.

Our best hope is to find another renter. Or a miracle! Thanks much for prayers.
