If you are interested in talking about homeless ministry and how to reach out to the street, or visiting the Boston or other ministries, or attending a Come and See weekend, please contact us at jacolvin@ymail.com.
The Mission Project of Ecclesia Ministries hosts extended "Come and See" weekends annually, in which participants experience the full range of programs of the host's programs. In addition, the following subjects will be covered, plus any topics raised by participants:
We'll have shared meals with relaxed time together, group discussions, and reflections on our ministries and our experiences.
See below for information about the 2012 Come and See/Be Weekend!
Come and See/Come and Be weekend
On the weekend of November 2-4, 2012, Ecclesia ministries from across the country and world are invited to central Ohio for our annual Come and See/Come and Be Weekend.
This year's theme is "Spiritual Practices on the Margins". We will be exploring the use of prayer, meditation, art, retreats, pilgrimages, labyrinths, Bible study, and other practices are or could be used in our various ministries. But we can't do it without your input.
If you use any of these (or other) spiritual practices in your ministries and would be willing to share what you do with the larger group, please let me know. On Saturday we will hold a series of informal workshops to introduce the practices, share ideas for their use with people living on the margins, and have time to engage in the various practices. So, it's part learning, part sharing, and part personal retreat.
Don't be shy. You have the great ideas and lots of others want to learn from you.
Please get back to Lee Anne Reat as soon as you can so that we can put together final registration materials by early July.
Thanks. God's blessings to you and to those with whom you minister.
